What this ESP allows

Catalog shared by both pages. Each note carries its source, its date, and its confidence level.

On the right, what our emails say about it: matching, contradicted, never observed despite the volume, too few emails to conclude — or out of reach, when the capability can't be read from an email.

Open pixel Yes 1 note · 20/08/2026 Consistent seen on 31 of 31 emails from 5 brands, 1 months
By default

Open tracking adds an transparent one pixel image to the end of the email

Caveat The typo "an transparent" is reproduced as is. Switch at account level (Settings > Tracking); pixel served from the branded domain if link branding is active. The same page carries the consent/privacy warning — for Marketing Campaigns only.

Click Tracking overrides all the links and URLs in your emails

Caveat Up to 1,000 links per email; plain text optional; set per account/subuser, overridden per message via mail/send tracking_settings (reference to be anchored in a second pass).

Tracking is switched off in the SMTP or API parameters, so technically per recipient. But the tool keeps no consent register: it is up to the client's software to decide, contact by contact. The capability exists; the mechanism that uses it is not provided.

Twilio SendGrid can create and update your SPF and DKIM records on your behalf

Caveat "automated security": SPF/DKIM delegated through CNAME, with SendGrid updating the records (a dedicated IP is added to SPF automatically). The classic selectors s1/s2 are not cited on the page — an observation from our corpus.

One CNAME record that points mail from your branded URL to the Twilio SendGrid email service and supports SPF and DKIM.

Caveat Same page as dkim — shared source note. SPF carried by the delegated CNAME (automated security ON) or by MX plus manual records (OFF).

To serve all of the click-tracked links, opens, and images in your emails from your domain, use Email link branding. This replaces sendgrid.net for Global Email send or eu.sendgrid.net for Regional Email send with your domain.

Caveat Optional, set up through CNAME records. The page reserves EU-pinned domains "or link branding" for Email API Pro and Marketing Campaigns Advanced plans or higher, without saying clearly whether the condition applies outside the EU.

When making a call on behalf of a customer account, the property value should be "account-id" followed by the customer account's ID (e.g., on-behalf-of: account-id ).

Caveat Levels: parent account / subusers (on-behalf-of header) / account settings / per-message override (mail/send). The exact override rule is not set out on the pages read.

Limits of this analysis

It doesn't say what a brand has actually configured. A sending platform that allows turning off the pixel says nothing about which brands have done so — that's what a brand's report answers.

It doesn't rank. No score, no recommendation: capabilities don't carry the same weight depending on the use, and that weight isn't ours to set.

A “not checked” cell is not a “no”. It says nobody has gone to look yet, and nothing else.

The corpus does not establish a capability. A rate of observed pixels says what brands send, not what the tool can do.
